Trasylol® Side Effects

Back to Trasylol®

Anaphylactic or anaphylactoid reactions are possible when Trasylol® is used during coronary artery bypass graft surgery or any other heart surgery. Hypersensitivity reactions are rare in patients with no prior exposure to Trasylol®. Hypersensitivity can range from:

  • Skin Eruptions
  • Sweating
  • Itching
  • Dyspnea
  • Nausea
  • Tachycardia
  • Circulatory Failure
  • Anaphylactic Shock
  • Death

Adverse Reactions

Early studies undergoing CABG surgery indicated that Trasylol® was generally well tolerated. The adverse events reported are frequent sequelae of cardiac surgery and are not necessarily attributable to Trasylol® therapy. Adverse events reported from patients in U.S. placebo-controlled trials are listed in the following table. The table lists only those events that were reported in 2% or more of the Trasylol® treated patients without regard to causal relationship.
