A wrongful death lawsuit was recently filed by Pennsylvania attorneys, on behalf of William and Roberta Barkay, of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania.
The law firm states that Barkay died of salmonella in peanut butter made by ConAgra.
The wrongful death lawsuit states that William Barkay, 84, first became ill in November and had to be hospitalized after eating Peter Pan peanut butter. Then his wife became ill with similar symptoms and died January 30th.
This wrongful death law firm says it represents 20 other people who say they were sickened by the salmonella-tainted peanut butter.
Last week, ConAgra announced it would recall all Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter made at its plant in Sylvester, Georgia. Officials have linked the peanut butter to a salmonella outbreak that has sickened nearly 300 people nationwide.
