2 Pennsylvania Women Charged in Fatal Car Accidents

Back to Car Accidents

Pennsylvania police filed vehicle homicide charges against two women involved in separate auto accidents late last year that claimed the lives of their passengers.

Police charged a 19 year old Lititz woman for a December car accident in the 400 block of West Newport Road in which her 18 year old passenger was killed. The driver and another passenger were seriously injured. Police said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

In addition to the homicide by vehicle charge, police have also charged the Lititz woman with causing an accident involving death or personal injury and various summary traffic violations.

Cocalico Township police also filed charges against a 22 year old Narvon woman for the November car accident on North Reading Road in Adamstown in which her passenger was killed.

According to the police report the Narvon woman was driving east on West Newport Road when the car left the road, traveled through a field and across a creek, became airborne and hit a large tree, then bounced off two smaller trees.

At the time of the crash, the woman's blood-alcohol level was .10 percent. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit for persons under the age of 21 is .02 percent.

The Narvon woman also was charged with aggravated assault while driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, underage drinking and failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic.
